Latinx (Latin American heritage) artists Ana Kazaroff and Alicia Reyes-McNamara have found inspiration in memory, science fiction, traditions and folk cultures
Our conversation with artists Kazaroff and Reyes-McNamara is more about questions than answers. We will be thinking through what it means to practice in a space of hybridity or mestizaje. What are the social implications and nuances of traveling through spaces where you are both seen and not seen? How do they navigate their own proximity to ‘whiteness’ both within their own communities and that of greater society?
Ana Kazaroff and Alicia Reyes McNamara are artists whose practices are inspired by and informed by their experiences and cultures as artists of the Latin American diaspora
